Ever wanted to play a moth in your TTRPG campaigns? Now you can!

Fuzzy, friendly, and fun, mothfolk make a whimsical addition to your games as player characters or NPCs, whether you're playing a cozy setting such as Humblewood or something with a little edge like Eberron! The mechanics in this booklet are written to be compatible with Pathfinder 1e, but can be adapted for any d20 based game, such as Dungeons and Dragons!

This listing is for a physical booklet, produced right in my home!

Every booklet is printed on premium 32lb paper with a smooth, semigloss finish. The cover is a heavy cardstock finished with a laminate coating to help protect it from damage and bending.

If you would prefer a version formatted with the Open Dyslexic font family or in large text, please don't hesitate to reach out at [email protected]! I would be more than happy to print you a version that better suits your needs.

What the heck are mothfolk?
Hello! Mothfolk, also called tylidai, are a species of sentient humanoid moth people who visually share a lot of characteristics of both moths and elves. The booklet has 12 pages of rules and lore for playing mothfolk characters based in Aketi, the high fantasy setting I write in! Usually I’m pretty grounded in my approach to magic (very little ‘a wizard did it’) but these mothfolk in particular were created by a fae goddess who was impressed by their mothy beauty! As such, they are magical and deeply connected to music.

Won't they throw off the game balance?
The mechanics in this booklet have been playtested with experienced players, so it has seen live play, and I have made a full effort over years to balance them well! There is also a section with notes for DMs who want to say yes to the moths, but need to tweak the balancing to better fit their game. There are also ideas for customizing the mothfolk in your game to reflect what YOU want in your world - want to remix the rules for a Luna moth? Go for it!

What if I need help with the new rules?
You're welcome to email me at [email protected] any time with questions, or join our low-pressure discord server! Both myself and my partner are experienced DMs with years of running games under our belts. There are also many members in our discord who may have ideas and tips for running games both mothfolk-related and otherwise. Our members have a range of experience with TTRPGs, from complete newbies to seasoned forever DMs, with lots of different perspectives. There are even several folks who were part of the initial playtest for the mothfolk!

I love the cover art, who did it?
My cover artist is Daf Cam Lo, and can be found at https://www.artstation.com/dafcamlo. They are a joy to work with, and I highly recommend them! The character pictured is Citala, a tylidai bookseller based out of a busy city in the Agasi Kingdom.
