TcKobold in a Nutshell:
Name & Business Basics
- TcKobold is a very small business of two people creating indie art and game design.
- The owner and creative head is Celeste Belmont, with partner and technical consultant Ben Montembeault.
- The roots of TcKobold stretch back into the early 2010s, with a business Celeste started called Blue Dragon Collectibles. Over time, her creative and professional skillset grew beyond the original concept, and she made the decision in 2021 to revitalize the business under a new name - TcKobold.
- 'TcKobold' is short for 'Trenchcoat Kobold', which refers to '3 Kobolds in a Trenchcoat', a longtime joke in the tabletop roleplaying community.
- The blue character in the logo is a kobold (named Tucker). Kobolds are very short, scaly, somewhat dragon-like fantasy creatures common in roleplaying games.
- TcKobold offers a range of items, including but not limited to: RPG Miniatures, RPG Kits & Box Sets, Micro-Roleplaying Games, Lore Booklets, Fantastical Sculpture, Art Stickers, and Kindness Kits.
- We are currently most known for our RPG Miniatures, of which we have over 60 available for purchase and over 175 unique models in our library and counting.
- Every RPG Miniature we sell is designed by us and 3D printed in-house, either in a sculpting program or in an asset manipulation tool.
- Currently TcKobold operates out of New Hampshire, running an online store and appearing at a multitude of pop-up events across New England. Check out these pages for a detailed list of where they've been and where they'll be!
- Our cozy DMless microrpg Tod & Froggë fully funded on Kickstarter! Check more information about that out here.
- We use software such as Blender, Nomad Sculpt, Canva, Lychee Slicer, and Square.
- For printers, we currently run a Mars 2 Pro, Saturn 2, and Saturn 3, all from the Elegoo series.
- We take pride in the small but vibrant community gathering around TcKobold. Most of our events see many returning faces, and we are always delighted to speak with new and old friends alike. We also host a Discord server with a growing community of artists, gamers, and miniature painters.
- Every other Wednesday, Celeste hosts a free-to-the-public board game night at Commune A Tea in Laconia, NH for all to join.
- Celeste loves learning the science behind how the world works, and draws upon that passion to help her write compelling fantasy worlds.
- Ben is always excited to share his passion for Digimon and other goofy games, and brings that energy to his miniature design. One of our most popular minis, the Gatasaurus Rex, was his brainchild!
- Currently the roster is entirely tabletop focused, but there are plans to eventually add video games and novels to the TcKobold catalogue.
- Eventually we would love to open a physical store to bring the tabletop gaming community of New England together for game nights, tournaments, playtests, and local community events of all sorts.
