Come join us for chill board game fun in Laconia, NH!

NOTICE: Game Night will be skipping a week, and NOT meet on October 1 due to the host (me) having my wedding that week! Laconia Game Night will be continuing October 15 as normal. Thank you!

Cozy board games are a great way to unwind after work with other laidback folks. 

When: Every other Wednesday (Current schedule: September 3, September 17, October 15)
Where: Commune à Tea at 653 Main St Suite 1, Laconia, NH 03246. See the map below!
Time: 5pm-7pm
Cost: Free! There is no charge to play games. The cafe graciously hosting us does have snacks, light dinner, and drinks for sale. 
There is a community tip-it-forward jar that anyone is welcome to pull from to help cover their tab at the cafe. Don’t let funds be the reason you stay away!

There is always a rotation selection of games available to be played by a group of folks or as few as 1-2 people, with new titles being added to the collection as I can add them! In addition there are also puzzles if you want something more low-key. Come as you are, or bring a game of your own to share if you'd like!

Q: Why is this page on some website called TcKobold?

• A: To make a long story short, the Laconia Board Game Night is organized by Celeste Belmont, owner of TcKobold, a small business featuring art, tabletop miniatures, and indie game design. Officially speaking, this group is hosted and made possible by TcKobold's donations of board games and materials. 
  

Q: I saw there was a Facebook event for a game night? Is this the same thing?

• A: In short, most likely! Facebook events are not particularly smooth to use for biweekly events like this, so while I am keeping up a FB event for now, this web page is the official 'home' of the game night online. You can always check the TcKobold Facebook page for the most up to date version of the FB event!

Q: Who is welcome at this event?

• A: Anyone of any age, background, gender identity, etc as long as you conduct yourself with compassion and respect for your fellow human beings. 

Q: What happens if Game Night is canceled?

• A: Unless there are posts otherwise, assume that Game Night is proceeding as usual! In the event of a cancellation, I will send out an email and update the Facebook event. I do try to post reminders, but sometimes I forget until 30 minutes before it starts. Absence of a reminder doesn't mean it's canceled! 

Q: Do I have to bring a game?

• A: Definitely not! I bring a rotating selection of board games and puzzles. You are welcome to bring a game from home if you'd like to share, but don't have to at all. 

Q: Can I come alone, or do I have to bring someone?

• A: You are more than welcome to come solo! Someone flying solo is just as welcome as a group of people. You'll be welcomed at the board game table nonetheless, and hopefully make some new friends!

Q: I want to come but I'm anxious about meeting new people...

• A: We're honestly pretty chill people! We have a small group of regulars who are all mostly on the anxious, neurodivergent, socially awkward spectrums. Little mistakes are just part of the process, and we give each other grace when learning new games, and new people. You're never pressured to participate more than you're comfortable with, but you're always welcomed.

Q: Can I bring food?

• A: We meet in the dining area of a cozy tea cafe, so food isn't allowed to be brought in from outside without prior permission from the owner. The shop has a bunch of yummy snacks available however, including vegan and gluten free options!
  

Q: This website has a discord server, is that for game night? 

• A: The discord server is for all fans of tabletop games, miniatures, fantasy art, worldbuilding, etc! It is not exclusively for Laconia Game Night, but since Celeste/TcKobold is the organizer, the discord server is probably the quickest way to get in touch with her with any questions. Please feel free to join the server and say hi!
